The surgeons usually operate in tandem to expedite the procedure and reduce overall operative time. Most cases require general anesthesia and last from 3 to 5 hours. Patients then spend 1-3 days recovering in a nearby South Beach Hotel with optional overnight nursing care available. Our practice can also arrange for a monthly rental apartment on miami beach for out of town patients who would like to stay in south florida longer. Patients usually take 2-3 weeks off from work, depending on their occupation. They can usually resume their normal level of activity 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. There is a permanent scar which fades over time and is easily hidden by bikini bottoms or panties.
