Forehead Lift

INFORMATION

A Forehead or Brow lift will minimize the creases that develop across the forehead, or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose and between the eyes,  improve what are commonly referred to as frown lines, vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows, reposition a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid skin and raise the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position.

The face is where most people notice the visible signs of the aging process.  There are many factors that contribute to these signs: genetics, environment (sun damage and/or smoking), stress and illness, architectural changes in the skin, volume loss and gravity; to name a few.  A good candidate for this procedure is someone who is bothered by the development of or presence of expression lines (or other signs of aging) in the forehead and brow region. Common complaints by those seeking a brow lift are sagging or low position of the eyebrows creating a tired or sad appearance, deep horizontal creases across the forehead, and frown lines between the eyebrows and across the top of the nose. A brow lift can be enhanced with laser resurfacing or a chemical peel to further improve skin tone and surface appearance. Other rejuvenation procedures, such as eyelid surgery or a facelift can also work in conjunction with the brow lift.

Various surgical options are available from traditional brow lift procedures to minimally invasive, limited incision techniques depending on the individual requirements of each patient.

Dr. Pielet uses a revolutionary endoscopic technique to correct droopy eyebrows, “hooding” over the eyes, forehead furrows and frown lines. This will smooth the forehead and raise the upper eyelids. Tiny incisions, barely a 1/4 inch long and hidden behind the hairline, are used to insert a tiny lighted camera to gently lift the tissues. Not only will this procedure eliminate some of the most visible signs of aging, but it also can stabilize the forehead and even the mid-face to slow down further progression of the visible signs of the aging process

What to expect during recovery

  • Minimal discomfort is to be expected and can be controlled with medication
  • Swelling and bruising to the affected area are normal. This will begin to fade within the first week
  • Return to light activity within 2-3 days of surgery or as you feel ready
  • Full activity may be resumed 4 to 6 weeks after surgery
